our productions

Annette is the current Artistic Director and choreographer at Pneumata, exploring the interaction of dance with the technological arts, text - sung or spoken, and circus skills. The company was founded in 1994 and aims to communicate a powerful narrative or emotive issue using an amalgamation of diverse dance techniques while further advancing new possibilities, originating from a place of stillness.

Pneumata's intention is also to consider the raw and minimalist or fantasy juxtaposed with the imagined future in all areas of design and composition. We create digitalised dance theatre productions, and short films, from the intimate to the spectacular integrating pre recorded work with live performance using music from rock to opera.

commendations

We are extremely fortunate to have had many positive critical responses following the productions that we have staged. We are delighted to have enthusiastic support from West End Equity. The comments below are from prominent figures from the arts-media industry and New Millennium Commission and visitors to our more recent shows in London.

"Having been involved from the beginning with dance projects as diverse as Bob Fosse’ s musical motion picture ‘All That Jazz’ and Michael Flately’s ‘Lord of the Dance’, I feel qualified to say the initial production of ‘The Babylon Bridge’ was a stunning debut. The work would have been considered impactful and gifted had it appeared Off-Broadway. I think the show and it’s creator Annette Aubrey, if properly supported in its further development is onto a real winner...a global talent...world class choreographer."...Bill Tennant - Among many other credits to his name, Bill is a highly respected producer, former head of Columbia Pictures - the maker of many well known films and is a voting board member for the Oscar ceremonies in America.

'...a giant adventure playground of bars and ropes and ladders...a thundering moral message..viscerally exciting battle at sea on Ti Green's stunning Act 11 set'-The Independent

'large scale spectacular'

'...the entire ensemble clambering the rusted metal girders of Ti Green's monumental set as though scaling a giant loom-some truly harrowing scenes: a slave being whipped until he sinks to his knees'-The Telegraph

'Tom makes a death defying fall and is saved by Sokoto'-The Stage

'an event on a scale of Les Miserables and a play that should be seen again and again by people everywhere'- Chris High, Liverpool Empire
